Dr. Harris gives every patient a thorough oral cancer screening on their consult visit. High Desert Oral Surgery is equipped to provide most incisional and excisional biopsies of the hard or soft tissues of the mouth. In many cases, minor pathology can be completely treated at High Desert Oral Surgery.

Do you do cosmetic surgery?

High Desert Oral Surgery & Implant Center does offer orthodontic / orthognathic surgery to its patients. That includes changes to the maxilla, mandible, cheeks, chin and teeth. Dr. Harris chooses not to offer face lifts, blepharoplasty (Eye Lift) , rhinoplasty (Nose Jobs) or other plastic surgery.

Will I be swollen or have pain after surgery?

Every surgery is different and every patient reacts differently to a specific surgery. Dr. Harris will discuss your case individually to ensure your understanding and comfort.

"All surgical patients have some post-operative pain and swelling, I will use techniques and give you medications to reduce those effects, but I always tell my patients to expect some discomfort and swelling after a procedure." Dr. Harris

Dr. Harris offers a full spectrum of sedation options. You can have a little as Nitrous Oxide up to General Anesthesia... All in the comfort of his private state of the art practice.
